Around the Gurschlhof
Sights, sports and leisure in the Vinschgau region
Our small farm museum next to the holiday home, with well-preserved farm tools, is always well visited. The still in original condition preserved grain mill or the first power station in the valley are gladly photographed by our guests.
One of the most famous cultural sights is the site Ötzi (the glacier ice man) was found at Hauslabjoch.
In the nearby village of Unser Frau an Ötzi museum, the Archeoparc, was built. There you will be introduced to Ötzi's life. In Unser Frau you will also find a pilgrimage church with a beautiful pilgrimage path.
The neighbouring village of Karthaus has an interesting story to tell, because monks lived there for a long time and today you can visit the remains of the monastery walls.
Traditionally, the sheep lift takes place in mid-June and the sheep drive takes place in mid-September.
Around Gurschlhof and in the surrounding area you can enjoy leisure and sports activities all year round.
Summer in Schnalstal
In summer you can explore the Schnalstal mountains. Numerous marked hiking trails lead to rustic alpine pastures, varied mountain hikes, romantic mountain lakes and high up to the three-thousand-metre peaks of the Ötztal Alps. You can actively enjoy your summer holiday by hiking, riding, cycling and mountain biking. The numerous possibilities also include paragliding, fishing, swimming or playing tennis, as well as exciting climbing tours in the high ropes course.
Winter in Schnalstal
In winter you can go sledding, skiing and skating in the nearby glacier ski area. In Schnalstal there are also numerous possibilities for ski touring and snowshoe hiking. Schnalstal is a snow-sure skiing area in the heart of South Tyrol. Kurzras is an ideal ski resort for the whole family, beginners and advanced skiers.
